My first view of a Model ’N’ Ford was in a video filmed in 1981 of a Model ‘T’ tour in the Suffolk/Norfolk area. At that time the car was owned by Dick Joice and was featured in an Anglia Television programme called ‘Bygones’.

At that time I had just bought a Model T ton truck and had started a complete restoration on it. I therefore put the Model ‘N’ out of my mind for about 12 years, during which time I completed the restoration and sold the ton truck, bought a 1915 Model T tourer and a 1920 Model T centre door sedan.

In late 1993 I started looking for an early Ford and I knew that the Peter Black Collection based in Keighley, West Yorkshire had a Model N in their collection. I got permission to photograph the car in detail to help me record its construction.
